I recently purchased a Sealy Rivercrest and thought it was okay. I slept good for the first week or so and then starting getting pain in my low back and right hip. I cannot return the mattress, I am stuck with it. I purchased a 3" foam pad (I had a 2" on my old bed) to see if that will help(will be in a few days). If that doesn't help I want to filp it over an sleep on the firm underside with the foam pad. Can you do that, will it cause any problems? I have had back issues in the past and my old bed was sagging but it didn't cause pain like this. I hardly had any pain on the old bed. I replaced it because it was sagging so bad. Help I am a my wit's end....
Hi Susan, Your going about it as well as you can. The River Crest is either too firm or too soft...and there;s no way to tell, other than to do what you're doing. The only change I would make is to flip it over and try the firmer underside before buying a topper. I have an older model of that same thing at home. About a year ago, I hurt my back and couldn't sleep on it because it was too soft. I flipped it over and problem solved. Now that my back is ok, I sleeping on the softer side again.
