Mattress needs something thinner than a regular boxspring

I'm looking to lower my bed, while increasing my under-bed storage with bed-raisers and wondered if there was anything thin I could use instead of the box spring (say a few pieces of wood or a full slab) that would still provide adequate support for my pillow-top mattress

Hi Dave, You can buy a lo-profile boxspring...5" thick, or a bunkboard...1" thick.
