I need a new queen mattress only (not foundation) for a base that has slats and drawers, queen size. I need to keep it to 9 - 10 inches deep due to construction of the bed frame, with backrest doors that open to storage - otherwise I'd be happy to get a 13 inch. This seems to be the biggest problem in finding a mattress, very few options in this depth.
Heat retention is a big no. A salesman tried to tell me the new tempurpedics don't have that problem but I am dubious. Also have allergy issues, will need a new encasing for whatever I get. Get some pain in hip and shoulders occasionally.
Latex sounds good but they all seem to be thicker than my bed frame can handle. Is there some version that might work for my current bed frame? It would also be good if it would work for an adjustable base in future, that is part of what would justify the price of the current mattress - otherwise I want to spend less now and transfer the whole bed to the guest room in a year or two, and get an adjustable base/mattress for myself.
I'd appreciate any suggestions!
Hi Kerry, Your last thought makes the most sense. The Sealy Posture Premier 10" plush is perfect. It's also a very reasonably priced mattress. Later, you can get the latex mattress you want for your adjustable bed.
