Boys tend to grow larger...heavier than girls.
For the sake of durability, the firm is recommended over the luxury firm.
However, this is a compromise...as the luxury firm is more comfortable.
Over the last couple of years, we've been recommending a different mattress.
The Adrian, by Wolf, provides the firmer support for a growing boy...but upholstered with softer, more comfortable latex...which is all natural and longer lasting than the upholstery in the Simmons mattresses.
I am thinking that the same thing probably exists under a different name, or at least something very similar. But this is a situation where there is no competition and they are probably overcharging for the bed.
Might you be able to offer me some advice on this?
The mattress you're asking about is a Classic Beautyrest....like the Broadway model, shown here:
In 2011 we purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Raleigh from you.
We have to replace that mattress and would like to get that same one again.
Can you tell me which would be the closest match to that one? Thanks, Ken
Hi Ken...and welcome back, What happened to your Raleigh?
They don't make that anymore. Yours has a layer of latex...and no memory foam. Today, everything Simmons makes is all about the memory foam. Today, we have two recommendations. * Simmons Beautyrest World Class Santorini, in luxury firm. & Ever-Eden 2" soft all natural Talalay Latex mattress topper
Greenspring Liberty Plush Euro Top. Experience deeper, more restorative sleep with the Liberty Plush Euro Mattress. Lush helpings of natural ingredients come together ...
* Natura uses the same coil system as the Simmons Beautyrest, containing a higher coil count than the World Class models. Also, the upholstery layers are all natural Talalay latex, and no memory foam....so there's no need for a separate latex topper.
Either way, there's no charge for the white glove delivery...and there's no sales tax. The only difference in the delivery service is; Simmons will remove the old mattress at no charge.
Natura charges $150 extra for removal.
Thanks for getting back to me.
This mattress is for a summer house, so we do not want to spend more than we spent for the Raleigh.
The World Class is almost twice the price. I would like to find another "Luxury Firm" mattress in the $1,200 range (for a King), preferably a Beautyrest.
I really don't need all the layers of foam that are on the Natura.
Hi Ken, A lower end Beautyrest is more appropriate for a vacation home. You'll still need the latex topper to go with it, to keep it from forming body impressions. The Classic Beautyrest Broadway, in luxury firm will bring the cost down. Shown here:
I'm looking for the name of my mattress (purchased in 2006 or 2007) from a local store.
All I can see on the sides is the Simmons beautyrest classic and I want to buy a new model of the same bed if possible!
Can you help me find out the particular model or is that enough information?
Hi Johanna, Much has changed in the past 10 years. Today's Beautyrests use memory foam, while there was none in your model from 10 years ago. Memory foam is a product designed to shorten the life of mattresses, so that they need to be purchased more frequently. Also, memory foam sleeps hot. When buying a Beautyrest today, we recommend a luxury firm model and topping that with a latex topper. The latex insulates you from the memory foam, sleeps cool, and extends the life of the mattress, so you can get 10 years out of it. Here is a link to the Classic Beautyrests, and to the latex toppers. The mattress is the Broadway in luxury firm The topper is the Ever-Eden 2" soft Talalay.
Judith writes: Hi Pete, We are arthritis sufferers. We bought a Pure Talalay Bliss NATURE latex mattress. It's a little too firm, but just got it. Should we give it a little while or get a soft latex mattress topper?...
