Sealy Reflexion SpringFree Bellson latex mattress

We are looking for a latex mattress - I'm sold after doing research and lying on a Sealy SpringFree "Bellson Ultra Plush". I have tried many of the others, polyurethane foam, a Select Comfort (now called Sleep Number) and innerspring ones and been disatisfied with all of them! They all have ended up causing great pain as I have spinal issues (was born with an extra vertebrae in my lumbar area and a reverse curvature in my cervical area).  My current mattress is a very thin (6")poly foam mattress with 2, yes TWO, memory foam mattress toppers on top. There are obvious sag spots and you really "sink" in. It can be quite a struggle to get out of bed. I'm certain this would be very comedic for someone watching; it is NOT funny however, when it takes several minutes to get out of bed and one can barely stand up straight after having done so. Most mornings result in a good hour of pain, using the heating pad while reclining on the couch or in the recliner. I'm done with this routine!!! I briefly considered a TempurPedic, but have decided against it due to the hard feeling, the lag time for response when changing positions, the heat factor and the reviews I have read on your blog. My question is that there are so many options & in my research I have seen the most positive comments about the Sealy and the Jamison Talalay Latex Mattess - both are expenseive! I do know that it is, however, a long-term investment as opposed to the older spring mattresses that had shorter life-spans. There are also some options available online from various manufacturers of high-quality latex mattresses in varying thicknesses. These are usually less expensive, but in many cases do NOT come with box springs. Of these 3 options, what is the best choice?

This committment to quality results in a reasonably problem free line of bedding. Of all the brands I've dealt with over the past quarter century...and having had to handle the service department for a large mattress chain that carried a dozen different brands, there are clearly far fewer service calls with a Sealy or Stearns & Foster product. And who needs the aggrivation? Certainly not me.
Our Sealy SpringFree River Crest is the same as the Bellson. Model names vary from store to store. I think that you'll be pleased to know that you can get that very same bed for less, from us.

Sealy Reflexion plush latex mattress

Hello, I have a 4.5 year old Sealy Reflextion Plush Top (can't remember the model name). I love it...period! However, I've recently married and need to upgrade to a King (I'm the light sleeper..need more space). Anyway, it looks like the Reflexion line as become the Springfree line. Are these still EXACTLY the same construction? In my area, I have a choice between the Sealy Spring free plush top (insert model name here...they change as you know) or I can choose the Stearns and Foster latex plush top....Either one for pretty much the same price. Is one better than the other? The dealer of the S&F says the cover of the SF is better quality than the Springfree? Any thoughts? Thank you again.

Hi Ivan. Except for the cover and label, they are the same. We have it as the Sealy SpringFree Beachside....which is the current replacement for what you have now. While a little different, it's very much the same.

Sealy Reflexion Collamore mattress

What a wonderful site for those of us that have fear of buying the wrong mattress. What a grueling process. First of all, I have a fused spine (L3,4 ,5 and S) I purchased a Kingsdown Eloquence queen set ($4000) Thought it would be great. Too soft so I replaced it with the Sealy Collamore Euro Plush set. After 1 week the sag in the middle was unbelievable. I took pictures of sag with ruler, sales manager came over to the house and couldn't believe what the mattress looked like. The company offered me a warranty replacement in One week because of defective materials. Also replaced frame with 9 leg heavy duty support top of line diamond frame. I now must now select another supportive mattress. HELP!!!!Afraid to replace with another Collamore. Thank you Janice

Hi Janice. I have an older equivilent of the Collamore at home. It's very unusual to have a problem with it. There is one there that isn't quite so plush. I believe it's called the Sedona Springs. Given your back, you might be happier with that anyway. It isn't real firm, just less plush...more of a medium feel.

Sealy Solano Beach Latex Mattress

Dear Peter,We purchased the Sealy Solana Beach Latex Mattress 4 yrs ago. It has been perfect until now. We have compression problems with the pillow top and are now tossing and turning. We have rotated it every 4 mos (clockwise)as recommended. The only way we get comfortable sleep is to sleep on the very edge of the mattress where there is no compression. Any suggestions?

Hi Catherine. Flip it over and sleep on the firmer core. If you find that too stiff, just add a topper to soften the surface. There's nothing you can do about the pillowtop side of it....now that it has compressed.

Hello Lucille. Spec sheets are not for public view. Stores that have lower prices are more inclined to share that info with you. This industry, like any other, is up on all the "buzz words", that will get a consumer to buy their product. When shopping, you have to realize that you aren't really getting information. You're being fed hype, via the buzz words.  "Organic and Natural" are two of the latest. These words lead you to believe that you'd be buying a mattress that is chemical free. Of course, you never actually see the words "Chemical Free" on anything. Like the fabrics used to cover them, you may see some that say "Silk/Wool" or "Cashmere". They are and only need to be 5% of that, to be allowed to call it that. Nothing in this industry is processed without chemicals. Very little is really all that it claims to be.
Latex is an excellent product. It's the longest lasting material available. Natural, synthetic or blended, it won't make any difference to you. Everywhere you shop, the salesman wants you to buy what he carries and he'll tell you how much better his is, than theirs...by using buzz words, and fear tactics  You then have to ask what's inside...demand to know. If that store won't tell you, keep shopping. There are latex hybrids that have very little latex in them. Salespeople are selling them as "latex" mattresses and not making the distinction. If you're being told that some brand you never heard of is the best, you can bet that it's best for them, not you. Off brands that are hard to shop are almost always over priced. Brands that you can easily find anywhere, will be much more competitively priced. That's what makes Sealy's latex line such a great value.

Hi Kathy. Model names are different everywhere you go. The Sealy SpringFree Beachside is the same mattress.
There are only 6 models in the line. The Saratoga Springs and the Beachside are the "plush tight top"...the only plush tight top and the starting model in the line.

Sealy Reflexion Saratoga Springs Mattress

Hi Suzanne. The Saratoga Springs and the Beachside are the same. "Reflexion" is and older name that Sealy resurrected for use at that chain.

Sealy Reflexion Venice Beach Mattress

I purchased a Sealy Reflexion Venice Beach king mattress set two years ago.  I am a side sleeper (5'9" and 145 lbs) and have been experiencing hip and shoulder pain for a while.  I think the mattress is too firm as when I sleep on other old-fashioned coil mattresses, I don't have this problem. I am considering a mattress topper but don't want to throw more money away.  Do you think this is the best option for me?  As you know, the king set was over $2,500 when we purchased it and I don't know what to do.  Also, in the topper, what type do you recommend (latex or memory foam) and what density and thickness?  Thanks so much for your advice!

Hi Becky.  Have you been rotating the mattress? I have the same mattress, (a couple of years older than yours), at home. Too firm isn't how I'd describe it. If the mattress hasn't been rotated, the upper layers that are under you, will have compressed a little. Rotating helps keep it even and gives the top layes time to recover.
Memory foam topper seem to be the cheapest. People write, telling me that it worked and it didn't. (mixed reviews). Latex is more durable, but more expensive. The cheapest place I know of is on line at www.foambymail.com They are given an ILD rating. The lower the number on that rating scale, the softer the latex will be. Given your size, I would think that 2" of 20 ILD would suit you.

It has been on the steel frame you recommended since we bought it, but we'd like to upgrade our bedroom furniture to a solid Maple wood set.  Do you know how much does our mattress and low profile support weighs ? - can't seem to find that info anywhere. Bethany!! I remember. Yours is the only mattress we've ever shipped to Canada. It seems so much more difficult now, than it was then. You only have to make sure that the support for the mattress set is adaquate. The mattress you have is heavier than most. The boxsprings are split. There needs to be 5 wooden cross supports and they need to be supported up the center (head to toe) and that center section needs to be supported to the floor. Otherwise the whole thing will bow.
