Him: 5'11'', 205 lbs. Me: 5'2", 125 lbs.
Both: Side sleepers, sometimes back
Issues: Him: Back pain, some arthritis Me: Degenerative disc disease in my neck.
I was thinking maybe the Therapedic Two-Sided Cameo Firm with a 2" topper. A concern I have, though, is that the mattress itself is 15" and I'm afraid adding another 2" will make the bed too high. I like that look, but may need a step stool to get in it. :-)
We'd appreciate your advice/recommendations.
That's an easy fix.
The low profile boxspring will lower the over-all height of the mattress.
The combination you're considering will provide firm support for a bad back and the latex topper will provide the surface comfort for side sleeping. Together, that will last for many years.
These two-sided mattresses have been on the market for 5 years...showing no signs of wearing out anytime soon.
For neck pain, I've come across a pillow that actually reduces pain. After using it for the arthritis in my neck, I started recommending it to others...customers and friends...all reporting a substantial reduction in pain.
The pillow is made of all latex, finely chopped. It performs like a down pillow, but with more body...and it lasts much much longer. They call it latex/down.
Here are the links to that pillow and to the mattress and to the toppers.
A 2" soft Talalay topper would be the one to get.
Also, we have from Denmark, a waterproof mattress protector that doesn't sleep hot, which has also been home tested. Shown here:
