First, your website and industry knowledge is most impressive- thank you for sharing it with all,of us in such a straightforward manner. At the risk of being repetitive- as I have read ALL of your kid beds suggestions/email answers; I have one more (similar one).
We have an almost 3 year old who is moving from the crib to a twin bed. You seem to always recommend the Simmons Beautyrest Recharge Flatbrook in Luxury Firm, however, you also clearly say all over the website that Latex is best. That said, since we can afford it, should We buy him a latex bed instead? Or should we just go with the Simmons and buy a latex topper, or coil mattress alone and only buy the topper in a few years if/when he needs it. We hope to keep the mattress for about 10-12 years. He moves around a lot in his sleep but seems to be on his side the most. So would there be other recommendations, say like the SB Annapolis instead of the others? Also, he's still getting used to the idea of a pillow. Any recommendations there? Latex (pretty pricey for a pillow but will it last longer?) Or just a normal one will do for such a young one.
Lastly, we have purchased a platform bed for him. It comes with slats. We also have purchased a bunkie board as it says that in the highest setting you need this instead of a regular box spring. The bed (frame) arrives this week, and we would probably prefer to use a box spring set up but would it be ok to use a bunkie board long term? Does it diminish support or life of mattress long term? Should we go with a lower profile/thinner box spring instead, if indeed the box spring option works fine in the low setting? I realize that the overall thickness would be different, based on your mattress recommendations, so that might answer the question, or perhaps you'd have different foundation recommendations based on the mattress recommendation above.
Thank you so much for your time. I am so appreciative.
