Dave & Debbie write:
Our son and daughter in law are having a hard time finding a mattress they like.
But, they spent the night at a friend's house and loved the mattress they slept on there.
It is a Sealy Posturepedic Reserve.
Is there something that Sealy makes that would be similar?
If not, is there another brand I can turn to?
Thank you, Dave and Debbie
Hi Dave and Debbie,
The Reserve Series Sealy Posturepedic mattress, you asked about, has been discontinued for several years.
Sealy is now owned by Tempurpedic...and everything they make is loaded with memory foam.
Memory foam is the worst upholstery material ever invented. It's sole purpose is to cause mattresses to need frequent replacing.
Not only is it a lousy product, in terms of performance, it's also a health hazard...off gassing the toxic chemicals from which it's made.
That Reserve Posturepedic they tried has no memory foam in it.
Memory foam is THEE thing to avoid when buying a mattress.
Here is a link to some old fashioned two sided mattresses...none have memory foam.
All have the same upholstery, (polyurethane foam), that was used in that Reserve Sealy their friend has.
Old Fashioned made Two Sided Mattress that you can flip. Strong coil unit and NO Memory Foam. Durable for Plus Sized People. Works with Adjustable Bed Bases.
