One of the large mattress chain stores is offering a free adjustable bed base with the purchase of a Tempurpedic mattress.
It seems too good to be true.
Is the adjustable bed base really free, do you think?
There's a thrift store, near where I live....one, to which, we routinely donate objects we no longer need or want.
They have a table outside of their store, where all the things on that table are free.
They have a wide variety of objects, on that table, that they need to get rid of...things that don't sell.
THOSE items are, truly, free.
What you're asking about, is a marketing ploy, where you over pay for a mattress and get an adjustable bed base that is included in the price.
It's not, really, free.
If you wait until after the sale, you find that you can then buy the mattress for a whole lot less.
Kudos to you for questioning this. Many people will buy into the hype, and feel like they got a bargain...when they could have done just as well any day of the year.
That particular retailer is more than open to negotiating the inflated prices they post on their sales floor.
