Stearns and Foster Vanna Luxury Plush pillowtop mattress
I just purchased a Stearns and Foster Vanna Luxury Plush pillowtop mattress. I have been suffering hip pain for over a year now and thought this would take care of my tossing and turning every night. This is a great mattress but unfortunately my hip is still hurting. Could you help me choose a good support mattress but will also take pressure off my hips so that I can wake up without hip pain. I weigh about 145 lbs but my husband weights 230lbs. He has aches and pain also but has no problem sleeping on just about any type mattress. He doesn't care for memory foam as it feels hot and too soft for him I can still return my mattress for another. So your advice is greatly needed and appreciated.
The poly foam in the pillowtop isn't much good for your needs. It does very little to cushion your hip, as you sink right in. It does little to hold you up and that "little" will turn into "nothing" as it wears. The only material that works for hip pain...works well and works long term, is latex.
You are, however, closer than you might think. Exchange your mattress for the S&F Vanna luxury firm tight top and add 2" of soft Talalay Latex. This combination has been used with great success over the past several years. Your husband's pains should go away too. Latex is the best material available for muscular relaxation. There is nothing like sleeping on latex.
Here's the link to the latex topper. You can order that on-
