My wife sleeps on her stomach, and I sleep on my side. We went to Macys and tried the Simmons line, the Rita beautyrest black collection (about $2K for a king). We then tried to comparison shop at a local store, and they told us that the comparable model was the Shakespeare Collection. They felt about the same, but it's tough when they're not right next to each other to test. They brought their price down to $1650. Are these two models actually comparable, or is beautyrest black of better quality (less feeling of motion, etc.)? Any thoughts about going with a firm mattress because of her stomach sleeping? Thx. Jason
No, they are not even close to being the same mattress. The Rita is part of the Black line, with a cable coil unit. It is the heaviest unit in the Simmons line. The Shakespear is in the World Class line and even at $1650, it's way overpriced. The Beautyrest Black is a very good choice. I would have you try the Kameryn firm...also a Macy's model. I think you'll find it better suited to a variety of sleeping positions. The harder, Rita model, is better for stomach but no so much for side sleeping.
The Rita is the same as our Abriana and the Kameryn is the same as our Ansleigh. Here are links to both.
