Hi Liz. The coil systems between the two are quite a bit different. The Sealy coil unit is much more durable. Generally, when shopping, and you see a Sealy and Serta at the same price, the Serta always looks like more mattress. Given that the cost of material, cost of manufacture, wholesale mark ups and that particular store's profit margins are the same...in order for it to have more padding, that padding has to be a cheaper quality. And generally, that is the case when comparing those two brands.
